Ram complications?

Before trying to overclock my Q6600, I was looking over some guides and I think I may have found a possible problem. I have two sets of ram and I guess I screwed up when buying the second set since it has a different voltage (1.8 compared to 2.2), has a slower speed (PC2-6400 compared to PC2-8500), and I can only find the timings on the first set I bought (5-5-5-15).

So is it still possible to overclock my processor, or should I wait until I can replace my cheap sticks with a decent pair that matches what I already have and then overclock?

I’m not sure what ram clock is. If you are taking about the timings (like 5-5-5-15) I cannot find that for the other ram, but for clock rates I think they are 333MHz vs. 800MHz (if that makes sense). as for cooling I already have an aftermarket cooler on and the processor runs at about 46°C under load.

The 333 will be DDR or double data rate for 667. so you have DDR2 800 and DDR2 667 mixed. You need DDR2 800 to overclock that chip if I remember right it has a 9x multiplier. So with DDR2 800 you are good to 3.6ghz overclock because 9x multi x 400=3.6ghz...about as high as that chip would go I believe. With DDR2 667 you are limited to 3.0ghz because 9x multi x 333=3ghz
