Post you high over clocks and your cooling method with your high and low temps

4.0Ghz i7 930
Low Temps : mid 40's
High Temps : 70
Cooler/Heatsink : Corsair Hydro 50

Solution

Idles mid 30s, realtemp load is 72-75ish
H50, Arctic mx-3, and push pull mod to cool it.

Last 3. Antec 1200 with 7 x 120mm and 1 x 200 mm case fans.

E6600 2.4ghz to 3.4ghz with a ZeroTherm Nirvana NV 120. With Actic Silver Ceramique thermal compound.
Idled in the 20s C to 60C under load

E8400 3.0ghz to 4.050ghz with the same NV120.Same Ceramique thermal compound.
Idled in the 20s C to high 50s under load.

i7 2600K 3.4ghz to 4.5ghz with Hyperthreading enabled. Scythe Mugen 2 Rev. B with IC Diamond 24 thermal compound.
Idles in the high 20s to low 60s under load.

Load meaning Prime 95. All still run at those clocks 24/7. I just do not own the first 2 anymore but a buddy of mine does.

GA-EP45-UD3P | Q9550 OC'd to 3.6 GHz (425 MHz X 8.5) C3 stepping :(, load temps 58 -61 C, TRUE/Scythe SFlex SF-21F
GA-EP45-UD3L | Q6600 OC'd to 3.6 GHz (400 MHz X 9), load temps 61 - 66 C, Xig Dark Knight
GA-EP35-DS3P | E7500 OC'd to 4.11 GHz (373 MHz X 11) load temps <60 C, Xig Dark Knight, "junk system" built out of leftovers
All are 24 hour, Prime95 stable.

For daily usage I'm at 177bclk with turbo on, so 3.7ghz -> 4.2ghz (i5 750).

Idle temps are around 38-40 or so, full stress test load is around 72-73C but never more than 66 or so under normal use (that happens when encoding video).

blacksheep101: That doesn't seem right unless your ambient temps are in the 30s. Did you manually OC and bring the voltages down as much as possible?

i7 980X 4.7GHz (only for a few weeks), temps were around mid 40s idle, never pushed it to full load cause i could only assume what would happen

current is 4.27GHz, temps are 30-35 idle, 50ish full load (prime95)

using Corsair Hydro H50 in push pull with 2x 1500RPM Apevia blue LED fans

What case? I just checked my temps and i idle at 30C and max out at 50C in BC2

Its a full tower, thermaltake spedo. I've got a fan controller on the front with 6 120mm fans wired to it. I usually only run a single fan on the radiator and the two 120mm in the rear due to the noise. But, if im gaming or have handbrake running I crank em all up.

Someones gotta represent the 3570k in here.

i5 3570k@4.6Ghz w/1.385vcore w/98c MAX temp. on hottest core in IBT 127.5Gflops w/85c MAX temp. on hottest core in Prime95

7.9 second SuperPI 1M Score, 9600 Passmark8 CPU Mark, 9400 3DMark11 Physics/9000P Total 3DMark11 score with 660Ti OCed, 7.70 Cinebench 11.5, 1.97 Single Core Cinebench 11.5

I think that's enough info on my 3570k

There are no Ivy bridge CPUs because the thread is 2 years old! As I already pointed out above. I asked the mods to close this.

Wait until you have been here a few years and you will feel the same way. It's great fun to get sometimes several messages a day from threads you posted in back in 2009. As this one had a best answer it should have been closed 2 years ago. Besides necroing a thread is at least a violation of etiquette if not TOS.
