Windows 8 freezing

Hello, I recently finished building my first computer. I mistakenly installed windows 8 and it has been a disaster. After finally getting it installed any time I tried to install a driver, or even just Google chrome, my computer will freeze. I have no control of the mouse or keyboard and I am forced to manually shut down the computor. Is there a fix for this windows 8 freezing issue?

safe mode. find out what is going on in device manager. or check event viewer. if its hardware related you will need to find working drivers. Its best to do a clean install if possible.
