Hello,

I have an intel dx58so motherboard, intel i7 950 cpu, antec truepower 1000w supply, 6gb ddr3 memory.

When i boot it takes 15-20 seconds before i see something on the display and when the display turns on.

When i reboot i don't have this problem at all.

I tried with 3 different graphic cards and problem stays.

Anyone an idea what the problem could be ?

Kind Regards,
Kris Saelen

Just an idea. I have a SATA hdd a PATA hdd and a PATA DVD drive. The 2 PATA drives are connected on the same IDE cable, but if I unplug one or both of them but keep the IDE cable still on the motherboard the bios keeps trying to detect something on the cable for about a minute, before giving up and continuing with the boot. However if both are connected properly, no loose ends so to speak, it boots super fast. I doubt this could be the case for you since that mobo doesn't have IDE support o it's a thought to check if all cables are properly connected and no "loose ends" (except maybe PSU power cables).
