Hybrid SSD/Conventional HDD

A couple of years ago one of the large HDD mfgs (Seagate?) created a hybrid/conventional drive that was very fast but at the same time relatively inexpensive. Recently, I read the drive was updated but I haven't read anything about it.

Anybody have any knowledge of this?

looks like I'm holding off my upgrade 'til hybrid drives are available for PCs then it's SSD SATAIII for boot and hybrid drives for everything else.
