I am in jordan and there are very few high performance graphics cards avialable, I want to upgrade my 9500 GT, and I found the 9600 GT and the 8800 GTS 512, the 8800 GTS 512 is about double the price of 9600 GT, I know that both are somewhat old cards but that what I was able to find in the retail stores, I play games occasionally, my monitor resolution is 1440*900.
The question is: Is it worth to go for the 8800 GTS 512 for double the price?

The rest of my spec:
intel E7400
2 GB DDR2 800
250 GB hard disk western digital
300W power supply (I will definitely change it if I get one of the above cards)

Thank you

I don't think so. According to Tom's the 9600 GT is only a level lower than the 8800 GTS: http://www.tomshardware.com/review [...] 296-6.html

If you like playing Crysis or Fallout 3 on a good resolution go with 8800 GTS, 96 cores vs 9600gt with 64 cores.

What is the price for the both graphics card?

9600 gt : 115 JD ($164)
8800 GTS 512 : 250 JD ($357), it comes with crysis bundled with it

I know that these prices are much higher than prices online, but that what I have to choose from

like zafer said it depends on the games if you are really into crysis i would get the 88 but if not u are only okaying at 1440x900 so the 9600gt should suffice to play all the other games fine
