I just installed new P5QL Pro and unknown device appears even I tried different Intel chipset utilities. Unknown device location is on Intel(R) ICH10 LPC Interface Controller - 3A18.. wtf?

I didn't notice any problems in my system yet but I also didn't install anything yet (except Google chrome and Realtek HD audio) before I solve this - very annoying to have some Intel component without a driver :/

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400
Asus P5QL Pro, Intel P43
Club 3D nVidia Geforce 8800GT
Zalman 600W
4x1GB Corsair XMS2 6400

jep I did. That link takes me to 9.1.1.1019, and I tried few older versions too..... no go. I just can't believe that such a known/popular/older product gives such an error... *sigh

You could download sp40199.exe from HP. It includes Intel(R) ICH10 LPC Interface Controller - 3A18.

will try defo because I was playing Burnout Paradise for 5 mins and screen flickered different colors, stacked on one frame changing colors, sound continued thou (game music works!), I couldn't do anything, no response to keyboard (Logitech G11 shows lights anyway so its on), couldn't go to windows or shut down the game (tried to switch tabs and alt+F4, tried Ctrl+Esc, Ctrl+Alt+Del), had to boot machine by button....

and I had exactly the same problem with previous mobo! Abit IP35 Pro. Tried with my friends 8800GT and problem persists on Abit. Gota try another card with this Asus.

Hmm.. could processor cause smthg like that? or power supply?

The PSU can't cause the unknown device, but it could cause the video issue. The CPU could also cause the issue, but running Prime95 should help you determine if it's working properly. Also test memory by running memtest for several hours.

I downlaoded sp40199.exe, which is actually Intel chipset 9.1.1.1009 but nothing is changed - still the same unkown device.

btw GhislainG I appreciate ur help here.

what comes to graphics, its still fcked up. memtest run for 16 hours on Abit mobo, 5 hrs on Asus .- no errors. Prime95 run for over two hrs, all good with CPU.

2:20 min Prime95, temp CPU 55C, temp GPU 58, temp mobo 24, temp HDD 27.

Mem tested for 16hrs in previous setup with Abit mobo, and now for a couple of hrs. TEsted separatley each one and all together - no errors.

Today managed to play Burnout Paradise for a half a hour before crash--> temp CPU 67C @ max koad, temp CPU 58.

Latest BIOS, tried older BIOS too with Abit mobo, but no difference - ocassional / random crashes, sometimes BSOD see thread "http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/forum2.php?config=tomshardwareuk.inc&cat=12&post=264791&page=1&p=1&sondage=0&owntopic=1&trash=0&trash_post=0&print=0&numreponse=0&quote_only=0&new=0&nojs=0"
In CS Source also graphic glitcjhs where clorors are fcked up but game runs smoothly and sounds are working, then it "gets tired" in ~5 mintues before freezez in a same way like in Burnout PAradise^^

In other post I said I tried different versions of Windows and actually 3 different HDDs just to make sure :D

So its only PSU which I didn't change/test. I don't have any measures/external testers, any software capable of that maybe? (I ve tried to give a power to GPU from different PCI-E cable of the same PSU thou)

Even a Zalman PSU can be defective. You could try a different PSU in your system or test the Zalman in another similar system.
