im getting funky pause lag in games, i have been smoothing out my performance issues by checking process priority, affinity and all that jazz
with old games like unreal tournament 1 reducing the number of cores to 1 will fix the game
however with new games such as unreal 3 and lord of the rings online and ESPECIALLY CS source i will get this odd lag every second when running 2 cores. removing one core will fix the consistent skipping, but kills my performance down
im pretty sure its a dual core issue, but im unclear as to what it might be it just feels like a car with a square tire, every rotation theres a bump, its driving me crazy!
thanks for any ideas

Here's a link to some alternative drivers at Nvidia http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx?lang=en-us Just hit the drop-downs, put in the 250 and Vista 32 bit and it will give a short list of resent drivers.

Ya, seems like drivers for Nvidia cards are similar to the BIOS on MoBos, 1 works great on 1 system but needs to be fine tuned by trail and error, updating or rolling back to the 1 that gives the best performance to each individual's set-up. I know I've experimented with better than 20 different drivers on 2 platforms with 4 different video cards clear back to driver 81.89

sense...please make some
to the others thanks for the assistance ill start rolling drivers back, but let me clarify that this problem was present BEFORE the gts was installed....
ill take another look at the dual core options, maybe a manual tweak will prove better
