Hello,
I hope someone can help me. I own a Dell Inspiron 530, and Iam running XP Professional Version 2002 with Service Pack 3. The DVD-Ram drive can't read or write. The drive is: PLDS DVD+RW DH-16A6S. When I click on the drive after I have inserted a DVD I get the following message: Please Insert A Disk Into Drive H:. I've tried uninstaling and reinstalling the drive but to no avail. The device manager says I have the most up-to-date driver for the device. A check of the registry reveals that the UpperFilters {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} is missing. What can I do. Thank you.

Are you using DVD RAM blank discs?
XP can only use discs that are formatted in FAT 32 as DVD RAM, so be careful of what you buy.

Are you are using standard DVD-RW disk?
Do you have a program installed to use those disk as you are trying to do? (InCD or DLA comes to mind)
