Ok,
First of all I'm fairly new to computers and I recently bought a decent laptop, so i'm learning quite a bit.
One thing I don't understand is why i only have 62 hertz as a refresh rate. It seems like I should be able to
go higher than that. Heres my specs.....

CPU- Quad Q9000
Display- 17" WUXGA
Memory- 6GB DDR2
GPU- GeFORCE 9800m GS 512MB
OS-Vista Premium 64 Bit

I'd really appreciate some info...

Thanx everyone

The average refresh rate of most current LCDs at their native resolution is 60Hz (a few can go to 75). This is slowly changing to 120Hz but is not widely available outside of televisions yet. You may be able to get a higher refresh rate by lowering the resolution considerably. An LCD has only one resolution that it looks good at (native resolution), so you will be sacrificing image quality if you decide to lower it.
