Hi guys,

I purchased an additional gigabyte 4850 yesterday to setup a crossfire.

Specs:

Intel E8500 3.16Ghz.
Abit IX38 QuadGT.
8 Gigabytes of ram DDR 667.
2 X Gigabyte 4850 (GV-R485ZL-512H).
2 X Pioneer 215 DVR recorder.
150 Gigabyte 10K Velocity raptor.
80 Gigabyte Seagate HDD.
3 X Noctua system fans.
Coolmaster Hyper TX3 cpu cooler.
Antec 300 case.
Coolmaster extreme power 650 V2.
Vista 64 home premium.

I play fallout 3, COD world at war, Farcry 2 and sometimes Street Fighter 4.

By adding the additional 4850 would that be a bit too much for the Coolmaster under full load? The last thing I want are components getting damaged.

Kind Regards
Moe

You should be ok. That setup should draw around 500W - 550W on max CPU + GPU load. This won't ever really happen, as the CPU while playing games will never really be at 100% usage. You're more likely to have upgraded system, by the time a game can load that setup at 100% CPU and 100% Crossfire GPUs.

Even at 100%, that system will not top 350W. HD4850 is only ~110W apiece, E8500 is nowhere near 100W.
