ATI 4870 x2 or Nvidia GTX 295?

Ok...I'm sure this topic has been argued to death. With that said, i'm new to the world of PC gaming and am trying to decide which card to purchace. I'm looking at purchacing a Velocity Micro Z-55 with an Intel i7 2.66ghz processor, 6gb gddr3 ram, 1Tb HD, 800 PSU. I would like to make this PC as "future proof" as possible. Price is not an issue seeing as how these two options are the same exact price. Any help/info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance

if price is no option, I would go for the new Asus GTX295 coming out. It uses 2 GTX285 cores instead of GTX260 cores. That thing is going to rock!

if you want to stick to the $600 range, then I would recommend the "regular" GTX295, I currently run one, and I love it. I'm suggesting it from my personal experience, and based on reviews in comparison to the 4870x2.

Otherwise go with hd4870x2 2GB for $379

In my honest opinion the extra $200 is not worth the extra 5fps. Also DH4870x2 supports DirectX 10.1 which by Microsoft will benefit greatly from the new API that DX11 will implement. But will have to wait for benchmarks before we can state any firm conclusions.
