hey i want to overclock my cpu an intel e7200 to atleast 3.3 or 3.5ghz right now i have managed to overclock it to 3.04 ghz but i want help from you to overclock it further right now i have these settings-
FSB-320
mem multiplier = 2.50
ram speed-800mhz
dimm overvoltage- +0.1volt
FSB overvoltage- normal
cpu voltage- 1.35000volts
i want to overclock it but raising the voltages not beyond 1.38000 volts
i have a gt240,2x2gb ddr2 ram,250gb harddrive,an e7200,a 400watts power supply,and a GIGABYTE S-series motherboard the GA-945GCM-S2L/S2c
please help me thanks in advance

Hi and welcome to Tom's foru.

What cooler do you have? What temps are you getting? What are your ambient temps? We need know those things before give you something to work.

i don't want to exceed over 72c max at any cost. i am ready to get it at 3.2 in order to keep it cool.

With those temps and stock cooler isn't good idea do overclock. I suggest you 1st change the stock cooler for a beter one.

i cannot whats the max i can overclock under 72c at max because right now i have oc even further at 3.10ghz but the temps are same. please tell jow i can overclock it till i get 65c to 68c max load temp. ( it should not exceed that) i am testing it with prime 95 and gta 4 max setting to stress it very much.

and i also think i have not set the fsb properly. i will test how much it can go max with 1.35000volts i don't want to exceed that voltage. i will do a test and then give you the results.

This should be your first stop.

It's for an EP35-DS3L but all the Gigabyte Core2 BIOS's are similar.

You are doing not badly. Change your memory voltage to factory recommended values. Change your memory multiplier to 2.0. Core2 systems really do not benefit from overclocking memory.

Using the stock cooler, you are going to bump into thermal limits long before you reach the maximum recommended CPU voltage of 1.45 volts.

ok i checked it but i want you to just tell me the settings to put in the bios i will try to set the mem multiplier to 2.0 and see if it works.

We can't give you any specific setting, you need find it your self with test and fail, thats the way to overclock.
