Hi guys
i have 8 gig ddr2 -1066 running at 1.2v safe standard for my ram
problem I’m having is 1 of the 4 sticks don’t like to run at 1066 it runs at 800mhz fine
so what do I do
do i
1.just run 8 gig at 800mhz and be good
or 2.
do i run 6 gig at 1066 and just throw out the gay stick ?lol
what do u think is best option would i loose much performance going from 1066-800
THE RAM is 1066 3 out of the 4 ram sticks run at 1066 fine @ 2.1v
1 ram stick does not it only likes to run at 800mhz stable if i set it to 1066 with it in the system it causes me to crash
so the question is 8 gig at 800mhz
or 6 gig at 1066?

Sell one pair and run the rest at 1066MHz. 4GB is more than sufficient for normal users.
It ALL runs at the same speed. One stick cannot/does not run at 800 while the rest are at 1066.
What OS are you using, and what are you doing that you think you need more than 4 gig?
i have 4 x2gig sticks of ram all are 1066 capable
1 stick does not like being run at 1066
if i go into bios and drop memory to 800mhz instead of 1066 with that 1 stick that does like to be run at 1066 it works fine
3 sticks work fine at 1066 1 stick doesn’t like it and only like 800mhz
the question is I’m asking how much performance will i loose from dropping from 1066-800
also loosing dual channel duno?
well with 6gigs (3*2gigs) it'll run in single channel, which would make it slower than 800Mhz dual-channel.
Also AMD CPUs don't officially support 4 sticks running at 1066 and will default to 800.
You won't see much difference between 800 and 1066. If you really need at least 6GB, underclock all of your RAM to 800MHz instead of getting rid of one stick as dual channel can only be enabled for pairs.
