While this problem is actually on my PC, it is caused by my PPC device
(Siemens SX66), so I thought I would ask here:

When I have Windows Media 10 running in skinned mode (either listening to
MP3 or online radio), whenever I cradle my PPC, WMP switches from skinned to
normal mode. When I make WMP the active program, I can Ctrl+2 to put it back
in skinned mode, but that shouldn't have to be done each time.

WMP is listing the PPC device as an portible device and attempting to sync
music to it (which I don't ever remember activating), and I can't find the
setting to make this stop.

Thanks in advance,

Ron

That part is easy to solve : Start WMP 10 then cradle the device one
more time. Now go to the media player menu. Choose Tools -> Options
and then the Devices tab. Your SX66 should be listed.

Click the SX66 then the Properties button. Now you can see several
options. To turn off auto-sync completely, make sure the 'Start sync
when device connects' box is not checked.

You can ~instead~ choose the 'Settings' and select any of the playlist
types listed. So you could for example auto-sync audio notes playlists
(eg from meetings) to the device, but not music playlists.

HTH

Thanks for the reply Neil, but that didn't get me where I was needing to go.

From what you provided, I got to the Devices tab on the Options page. At
the bottom of the list, I have "Storage Card", "Storage" & "Pocket_PC" (all
three representing various storage option for my SX66)

When I select any of the three and click on Properties, the options within
the "Automatic synchronization" are not available (greyed out).

Any other ideas?

Ron
