Cannoot boot possibly dead gfx card? ATI

hey guys im attempting to boot my new pc into bios for the first time and I connected my ati radeon 5770 into my tv using hdmi, im getting the normal one beep boot and the gfx card fan is running....im not getting a signal through my tv any help? do i need to install drivers for hdmi first and maybe do vga?

You need to go into CCC and set-up the second display device.
Desktop management.

i see so i need to connect it throuh a vga before? im asking becuz i dont have one and it only accepts vga and hdmi
