I ordered the Intel system because it is what I have been wanting to build for a couple of months and when I found I could buy it for only a little more then it cost to build it, well I bought it. Then I realized the AMD system listed only costs a little more and ships next day while the Intel will take about 2-3 weeks to arrive. I am mostly building the system to run Vanguard on High settings, possibly play some other games, and do school work. Is the AMD system superior and if so by how much? I need to decide if it is worth changing my order before they begin to process/build it. I hope to hear from you ASAP, thanks. Sorry this isnt a homebuilt system, I couldnt find a good thread to post it elsewhere.

Phenom is better, but don't buy an Nvidia chipset if you go intel.

If you want to go intel get the E7400 and a P43 mobo, use the extra money on a 4770 or a 4850 - you will thank me.

Also to make a really good informed suggestion I would need to know what this pc is for (gaming?, resolution of monitor?) and if you plan to OC - those things make a big difference.

#2, no question about it. Offers upgrade path to 955 (and other chips to come from AMD in the AM3 socket) later on since it's AM3. I would replace the 4830 with a 4770 from what people have been saying lately and maybe get another one later for crossfire. (Have the same mobo and cpu)

Yep +1.

It's really nice to be able to recommend both Intel and AMD, depending on the build.

And yes, if it's a gaming rig less CPU and more GPU might be in order. Also, the 4770 is better than the 4830.
