Graphic card

I have been reading some postings about video cards. Can you help me decide which video card to buy. I am using Photoshop CS4 and the Open GL stuff won't work for long or at all with my present card(GeForce 9500 GT). I do not game and only want to accelerated rendering features in PS to work well. I am using a AMD Athlon 64 X 2 Dual Core Processor 6000+) Asus M2N-SLI mother board). 500 watt power supply.
I have been told I need a Quadro FX 1700. Certainly I can get by with less of an expensive card, but my question to you is just how much less? Which card would you go with? I must have dual monitor capability.

$169 from Newegg. Try it for 2 weeks and if it's too slow, return it for credit towards thr FX 1700.

This sound like a pretty good idea. I am hopeing to hear from users who might be using the "Quadro" and I could make some comparisons. I guess however there are too many other variables that would get in the way of an accurate decision as to which I need.
