IM thinking about installing Windows 7 RC but i dont know is it worth it if all i do is play video games and surf web? Right now i have Vista running fine with everything installed and i dont know. Also i noticed when i go to install window on my desktop it takes like 20 mins for just the window where u have to accept the licenses or something but on my laptop it loads that right away. Is my cd drive slow on desktop? what could it be i just built this computer this year. Heres my computer

I wouldnt change to the rc if you already have vista .
You could dual boot and have both OS's but using the RC of 7 does have some risks . Updates and support are being tested . I'd only rely on it for non critical usage . Games fine , doing my taxes : NO .
Is your laptop loading from a recovery partition on the hard drive ? That will be faster than installing a dvd version which typically takes 15 - 30 minutes for older versions of windows [ but I havent done a fresh install of vista ]
LOL, your computer is actually very impressive. It's Vista that slows it down. Try optimizing it a bit - close Windows services you don't need and so on. There are even books published on the subject
but my main question here is why does it take so long for my desktop to load the install for either vista or windows 7 but my laptop loads it in like 1 min
