Gigabyte P55-UD4 starts/stops/starts/stops

Hi

Am building a new pc and cant get it too POST.

Fans and phase LED's on mbo come on for 1sec then go out for 3-4 s then this repeats.

Have unplugged all till just have mbo,cpu and cooler same deal.


Dont have spares to try can only think to take to shop and find which of the 3 (mbo,cpu,psu) arent working
unless any one else has some ideas ?

Is nice corsair 500w psu rated to 80% 5yr guarantee etc.

I have tried re-seating the PSU...

allso tried the cpu fan connection, and 2 others on the board

Is this a new build or did it just stop working?

thanks kyeana , its a new build but as i dont have the spare parts to test and find the
part thats not working i have taken it too a local shop

I had this problem too, with a P55-UD3R. Luckily my husband was also building a PC with the same parts, so we ended up trying the spare MOBO, and it worked. So, I would guess that it's the motherboard.
