Gigabyte 4850 Passive

Hi

I got a new Gigabyte 4850 Passive version.

I'm quite concerned about its temps;

Its idling at around 83 degrees, under load it jumps to around 105!!!

I thought I had suffiecient airflow with a front case fan blowing air in the direction of the card, and a large exhaust fan at rear.

I bought it for a quiet system, but left wondering if its worth it at these temps.

Any advice appreciated.

If you have a spare fan you can try to wire tie it to the heat sink.

Thanks mate, but does having three fans trying to cool a card not defeat the purpose of having a "silent passive" card.

Are the hight temps a design fault?
