Here are the components I'm going for:

100% sure:
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 955 BE
Case: Thermaltake armor+
Hard drive: VelociRaptor 300GB

99%:
PSU: CORSAIR CMPSU-850TX 850W

Might change:
Memory: OCZ Reaper HPC 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600
Motherboard: MSI 790FX-GD70 (I haven't consider any 790GX. Should I have ?)
Graphic card: ATI 4770 / 4870 toxic edition / 4890 (can't make up my mind !)

Any last word of wisdom ? I'm planning to order on friday from newegg, it's the last day for most rebates...

1) VRaptor's suck, if it's for faster boots then get a 120GB SSD, if it's for boots and storage drive, get a 640GB WDC black for an OS and Apps drive and a 1TB WDC black for storage.

2) MSI motherboards suck, and unless you're going to have 3 cards you don't need an FX board. try the Biostar AM3 board if your an OC'er or the Gigabyte or ASUS GX board if you're not.

3) OCZ Reaper's are a waste of cash unless your using DDR2-1150 which you aren't so drop down to OCZ platinum 1600mhz or Gold 2ghz dimm's.

4) If you're getting an 850w PSU, you might aswell get a 4890, or drop down to a 750w PSU by the same company and get an XFX 4870 X2.

^ +1
1. --->WD Black HDD - Best value/ performance
---> SSD - Fast but expensive...
--->Velociraptors - Slightly faster than the WD Black(Though not considerably fast, Actually 2 WD Black in RAID 0 would perform as good or better than the Velociraptors) but you pay a very huge price premium for the name...

2. +1 for the Gigabyte/ Asus boards...Actually the MSI and Biostar have pretty much the same quality...

3. Like Hello said the OCZ Reapers were the best in the DDR2 segment and for the DDR3... Get the OCZ Platinum...it has CAS 7...

4. Well even a 750W PSU is only required if you want to run 2 HD 4890s in crossfire...
Before we give you a graphics card suggestion, tell at what resolution do you play...

Thanks for all the suggestions !

HD-wise, I already have > 1TB of storage, so I don't need anything extra.

I'm already getting 1600mhz ram, cl7 :p With promotion/rebate, the ocz reaper ends up being cheaper than the ocz platinum. I thought the reaper was the superior one ?

I'm going AM3/DDR3... I saw you guys suggested 790GX boards, I thought 790FX were better !

Well yes OCZ reapers are better ones and they have a good heat spreaders...
And as for the Mobo, you are right about the 790FX...
They have better OC abilities and are much more stable...So buy the FX boards only if you are planning for pretty high overclocks...Else stick with 790GX as they also allow decent overclock...
But better get Gigabyte or ASUS boards(Preferably Gigabyte as they are much more stable) if you are spending that much...
