Hi,
My ISP recently sent me a new modem which apparently will increase the speed of my internet. After installing it everything seemed to work for a few minutes after which I could not access any more websites. I narrowed the problem to DNS (I can ping various IP addresses but domain name resolution doesn't work). By either renewing the lease with the modem or just rebooting the router the problem seems to be resolved, but returns within 30 min or so. Obviously this isn't a long term solution.
I've tried using 'Get DNS Servers Automatically From ISP' in my router config, as well as manually entering the correct DNS servers. This doesn't solve the problem. I called my ISP and was told that the problem was caused by my router.
Does anyone have any idea why this might be happening?
Thanks
