WD Passport - Forgotten Password

I have a WD Password drive that was "backed up" using WD Sync. It actually belongs to my boss who is not very technical. It has some very important data on it and he can not remember the password.

Has anyone had any luck or know of any techniques that will recover the data. I could certainly have my boss provide credentials to prove the data is his and can provide details as to some of the actual data included.'

Any help is greatly appreciated.

WD customer support... that's where I would start. After all, you don't want to mess up the data on it.

How was the password set? If it was encrypted you will not get into the data unless a back-door was created during encrypting (like a backup key file or disk).

i have some problem i mean i cant open my wd 1tb i forgot my password is there any why that i access it again to my external drive or it i rest my drive can i recover and got my file back .plz show me the why i dont know what to do.
