Hello,
I have a Compaq Presario V2606CU with AMD Sempron 3000+, 40gb HDD, 1.5gb. Old HDD seams slow and is 4+ yrs old. I bought WD 5400rpm 80gb to replace it. Put new one in and tried to boot with disk #1 recovery disk. All I got was "These PC recovery discs do NOT support this PC model." Then I put it into an enclosure, formatted and partitioned it, and then copied the D: drive with all the recovery data. I thought it might allow recovery discs to work but didn't.
What now, clone it?

Well, I downloaded Acronis True Image WD Edition from the WD Support Page. I then cloned my old hard drive. Seemed to go smoothly. But now all I get is a command prompt instead of loading the OS. I tried to have it boot from the CD drive using the recovery discs, but it still gives me the "These PC recovery discs do NOT support this PC model." Any suggestions?
