this is my system

 

C2Duo e6550
3gb ram 800 mhz
gt9600 sli 512mb
currently play at 1280 x 1024 but going to get a 22" 1680 x 1050

 

does it worth upgrade the 9600 and get this 250
would it be a considerable increase in performance?
should i keep one 9600 for phisx?

I would keep the 9600 setup, it will easily outperform a single GTS250.

and read the text above it. Tom's is saying you would barely see the improvement replacing a single 9600 with a 250. You have 2x9600.

Unless the games you play do not use SLI well (like some older MMOs), you will likely be going backwards. As coozie7 said.

Isn't a 24' 1980x1080?

Anyways, 2x9600GT > 1 9800GTX/GTX+/GTS250
