I recently had to get a new BIOS chip which fixed my pc but now i get a unidentified network (which i connect wired through my router) and can not connect to the internet.
I can connect to the internet wirelessly on my laptop so i know it is not the router and i also can connect via the wire that i use for the pc so i know it is not that either.
I have unistalled and re-installed the network drivers a number of times and have done otherthings suggested on forums and nothing has helped so i do not know what to do.
My specs are:
Vista 64bit
Asus P5KC motherboard
Intel Pentium Dual-Core E2200 "LGA775 Core 2" 2.20GHz
OCZ DDR2 PC2-6400 Reaper HPC 4GB Edition
2 x HIS 3870 (crossfired)
500gb WD hard drive
160 WD hard drive
Look if you pc has a hinge IP, maybe this is the problem.
The second step is that in cmd write ping 127.0.0.1, maybe you have a response, but if isn't your network port is dead.
Try with another network card... if this works, your network port is ded
