If your PC is in original condition, these are probably your specifications

You would have to add RAM for a minimum total of 1GB (1000MB) for Windows 7 32 Bit, or 2GB for 64 Bit. Your motherboard and processor have support for 64 Bits so it would be adviceable to upgrade to 2GB of RAM and Windows 7 64 Bits.

You can not upgrade Windows XP to Windows 7, so these are your options:
1.- Format drive to do a clean installation of Windows 7,
2.- You can install Windows 7 on another partition,
3.- You can install Windows 7 on another Hard Drive

If you prefer option 2, but don't have a second partition you can create one with Minitool Partition Wizard or AESEUS Partition Master.

If you prefer option 3 you would have the next options:
a) Install the new hard drive and use it as just another partition or
b) Install the new hard drive and remove the old hard drive, so the newly installed Windows 7 does not remove the boot sector in your Windows XP, and later 1) edit the boot sector in Windows 7 to include Windows XP (both hard drives installed), or 2) Use a boot manager
