Recovery disk does noy work on

Hello,
my recovery cd wont work, it will load almost all the way, until the end. It then says "error detected" and the cd pops out. I can't even get my laptop to work. help, its a toshiba laptop, satellite windows xp.

Visually check your CD and use soft cloth to clean it & try again.
