the i7 for sure, not only dose it have the 4 cores of the core 2 extreme, but it has turbo boost and hyper threading, in other words, it has 4 cores but 8 threads (each core works as 2) and the turbo boost is pretty much just self overclocking

So do you want to tell me that 1 x i7 975 is better than 2 x QX9775?! Uooouuu!!! Really?! I don't think so. 2nd option is better.

For gaming and alot of other tasks the i7 is a better choice even at stock clocks. If you're gonna do stuff like software rendering then the skull rail would be better. Do your research. There are alot of articles that compare the two setups and where their strengths lie.
