Find the right drive configuration for windows xp

how do i get the right order for the drive confiduration for windows xp? When my computer starts to boot then i get the cannot find prinary hatd drive 0 then it says to push f1 to reboot or f2 to set up! Im not sure how I did it but I got the right booting order once and xp started up but after i turned computer off a couple times, went back to not finding primary hard drive 0!!!

When you made your changes in Setup (F2), did you choose save changes & exit ? Sounds like you may have just exited without saving.
