New Router troubles

Hi all,
Im not sure if this is the exact place for it so forgive me if its not.

I was recently given a Belkin "ADSL2+ Modem with Wireless-G router".
Ever since i set it up ive been having troubles with my internet. It will disconnect(sometimes after 10mins, sometimes after 3-4hours) and go to "Limited connectivity" randomly and ill have to restart the pc once or maybe twice for it too connect again.
However when my friend was on the laptop she never got disconnected once. Im connected to the router through an ethernet cable.

If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated.

Nope, didnt think its anything to do with my ISP? Its just the router going to "Limited Connectivity" at random intervals and i have restart my pc 2-4times for it to go back to connected again, and what do you mean by TV connection etc? :x Not too good with computers.
