Any special reason to replace this with an identical model? I love Gigabyte boards but this one has VIA chipsets and I dont love VIA chipsets :kaola: Not to mention DDR and AGP.

I would be glad to replace it with a different one but this thing has an onbaord raid controller and I need to get the data off the drives. Pardon my ignorance on motherboard stuff. This is my first venture into something this involved with these motherboards. All I care about is having the data on those two drives. Is there another model motherboard that I can put in place of this thing that will allow the drives to boot up?

Ok now IF you can find this exact motherboard then MAYBE you can get that RAID back up and running.

Now for the bad news.....that MB is old and discontinued now. Probably the only way you will find one is E-Bay or somewhere similar.

ALWAYS back up your data!! Especially if you run RAID!!

Most of us have learned the hard way to do that. I know I have. Even if your computer does not use RAID you should back up data to somewhere external. Buy an external hard drive or even just a big flash drive, burn it to DVD or whatever but back up regularly and it is best to do it somewhere outside your computer case.

I hate to say this but I am at a loss. If it was just a single HD there is recovery software that will work. I do not know of any way to retrieve data off a RAID array without getting lucky with an identical MB and even then sometimes it will not work.
Im not even sure it can be retrieved professionally by sending the drives somewhere that specializes in data recovery and that can cost thousands of dollars.

I really wish I could help you more here. Maybe someone else can post an idea or something that will help?
