Which Processor should i use?

First of all hello and thank you in advance for your help.

I have two processors at home right now. One ive bought and one came with a bundle. I would like to know which one will give me the most performance for gaming?

AMD Athlon X2 7850 2.8 Ghz or AMD Phenom X4 9500 2.2 Ghz

The reason i ask this is because alltough the Quad is a Quad it has less Ghz. And the X2 7850 is basicaly a Quad with two cores disabled (Kuma) from what ive heard.

I would say the 2.8 UNLESS you are playing nothing but multithreaded games such as Crysis, Crysis Warhead, GTA 4, Arma 2 etc...tell us what kind of games you are playing

but if ur into COD 4 and COD 5, Rainbow Six Vegas 1 & 2, Battlefields...those will benifit from a higher clock, not more cores
  2. Hey thanks for the reply.
Well im playing GTA4 and Fallout 3 alot at the moment. Ive been using the X4 and im really tempted to try the 2.8 but i dont want to mess up my prozessor during the swap cause thats how i destroyed my last one. (bent pins)
  3. Stick with the quad and overclock it :)
  4. since u have it, use the quad. overclock it a little, and there u go. u should get around 3.0 GHz with auto vcore.
  5. Thanks for your advice everyone. Im gonna attempt to overclock the Quad.
