Hello,
I bought an extrememory xlr8plus SSD last summer (the 240gb edition). However, after about 1.5 months, it was broken, so I sent it back and got a new one. This one again, lasted 1.5 month, so I got my money returned.
About a week later, extrememory published a firmware-update for their SSD/SF-controler, and also the publisher of my laptop (FSC Amilo Xi 3650) published a bios-update with a "Fixed dataloss issue" in the changelog. So I gave it another try.
This time, the SSD was broken after just 5 days. Is there anything known that could kill SSDs that fast?...
The SSD is used as the root-partition of a Linux (Ubuntu 10.10) system and formatted as btrfs (ext4 the first one).
I just wonder why this happens all the time and what I can do about it..

Thanks,
Ben
