I don't need X-fire, or SLI. I just want a motherboard that does what I need it to, and with some nice extras. Socket 1156

Check out this one - great price for a solid board:

Between 100-200 but as cheap as possible in that range. I don't know what features to look for on a motherboard.

There are tons of boards available in that price range. You already have the CPU, I assume. It's really going to come down to what you need on the board.

If you're only going with one GPU and won't OC and don't plan on using any advanced functions, there are plenty of budget/entry-level boards that will put you much closer to the bottom of your price range.

What are some good ones to choose from?

I plan on using a single HD 5850 in it.

On a side note, a 650 W PSU would be enough to power a system with said MoBo, Core i5, and HD 5850, right?

I believe you'll be fine with a 650w PSU, but most of the worry will be if you have enough amps on the 12v rail.

I always like Asus, Gigabyte, and EVGA. I've never had an issue with MSI either.

What I'd do is compare the price points on newegg and see which features you get for the extra $20 or $30 difference between the boards. If they aren't necessary for you, then stick with the lower priced option.
