I've installed a Nvidia GeForce 9400 GT in my Dell Dimension 9200 because the old (Geforce 8300 GS) went out.

Everything works ok except when I put a DVD in I get the blue screen of death. I've updated the bios on the motherboard and update to the latest driver for the 9400 but it still won't work when trying to play a DVD.

Anyone have any ideas??? :(

What media player are you trying to watch the DVD with?

DVD's auto open with "Dell Sonic Cine Player" and when I hit play it goes to the blue screen. I've also tryed "WMP" and get the same results.

Try this :- http://cccp-project.net/download.php?type=cccp, it may be that the Dell app was somehow associated with your previous card, and yes that is an assumption I'm pulling out of my butt.

I've had some problems with that player myself (Dell) and I never really liked it. I use Media Player Classic.

Tryed this player and got the same blue screen!@#$%

Ok, I tryed PowerDVD9 and it worked perfectly...Thanks! :D But now my question is why does PowerDVD9 work but 3 other player including WMP don't work???

did you remove the 8300GS drivers?

Why would you need to?, the drivers are the same.

i had a similar situation when i upgraded from a 9600GT to a 9800GT. I had to clean out the previous drivers to fix the problem.
