APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: Within a month BUDGET RANGE: $500-$600

PARTS NOT REQUIRED: Smilodon Case, power supply (500w Stock that came with Raidmax Smilodon), DVD drive, 2x1g of DDR2 800 Corsair Memory

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: have used newegg for previous builds- would prefer using it

PARTS PREFERENCES: have always used ATI+ AMD, but Intel/Nvidia is fine if its a good deal

OVERCLOCKING: Somewhat (have my current processor overclocked a bit, but that's about the extent) SLI OR CROSSFIRE: would rather not

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: I would like to reuse my case+ psu if it will handle the new parts. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811156098

and looking to get Sapphire 4770 when they get back in stock

is this an overall good build? any suggestions? thanks for any input!

2x2GB is definitely worth it.

Yeah, your build looks just fine. Points:
- make sure you have a quality PSU
- your fans should be a HSF/120mm for the CPU and 2x120mm for the case (very low flow case fans and the HSF should be say 800-2000 and controlled via the motherboard)
- I'd get Windows 7 RC x64 for free and use it until OEM is released. Don't get Vista at this point! Windows 7 RC is good for a year but Windows 7 should be out by Christmas.

thanks for the response

the stock psu doesnt have great reviews, but seems to have enough power for the 4770 (the specs)

the case has 2x120mm fans, and 2x80mm, with another fan slot near the hard drive slots, so i think the air flow is fine for my build

is the video card that i picked good? or is there another good deal (i have about $50-100 more i can spend)
