Greetings,

My HP m8200n motherboard fried and I'm looking to upgrade it. Further, I'd eventually like to add an internal Blu-ray player and have this system in my living room.

My CPU is an AMD Athlon64 X2 6000+ processor - 3.0GHz (Windsor, 1MB Level-2 cache, Socket AM2, 89 watt).

If this CPU is still good, I'd like to reuse it with a mobo similar to these:

ASUS M4A78-EM
Gigabyte GA-MA785GM-US2H

Both these boards are mATX and support socket AM2.

How can I tell if my CPU work with these boards? Are there any other compatibility concerns besides socket and form factor?

Thanks for helping the noob
