I just got a new laptop and Netgear router (WNR2000). I already had a home network with an old microsoft router and cable modem. I can use my laptop in the old network just fine (both wired and wirelessly), but when I use the new Netgear router, I cannot get on the internet (neither wired nor wirelessly). I can only get local access to the router/network. This is the only computer in this network and I have the settings to find the IP address and DNS servers automatically. Has anyone seen this problem and have any suggestions for things I should consider to fix this? Thanks.

Did you power cycle the cable modem after connecting the new router? Cable modems remember the MAC address of the first device they connect to.
