Hello, im new to upgrading a computer and I was wondering if there is any site or something that can tell me what parts are compatible with my computer. I have a piece of crap Acer Aspire t690. All I was wanting is to upgrade it enough to play World of Warcraft with more then 11FPS. http://img.tomshardware.com/forum/uk/icones/message/icon8.gif

Im not sure if its the graphics card that fixes FPS or if its a combination of everything. In which case i would most likely have to upgrade my ram as well.

If anyone could tell me some parts that would help me with this problem please post.

Give us the specs of your current computer and we'll go from there. WoW isn't a very demanding game so If your current computer can't handle it then chances are it's too old to be upgraded.

But give us your specs and we will be able to help you better.

i don't know what mobo it is, I m gusing its intel 946 one? considering the on board graphics

if I knew what mobo it was i could match some ram sticks up for you. but i don't know if its SDRAM or DDR,DDR2

lets put it this way 1Gb with vista on shared graphics is not the best thing :p

RAM sticks would fit any motherboard that is compatibile Ie have teh same pins at teh RAM say DDR2 is 240pin but you have different speeds and some motherbaords are fusy so even than it might not work

right I just did some reserach into the chipset, it takes DDR2 667 RAM dual channal so if you look for this type of RAM you should be on the right lines, its very handy to know your mobo make and model through so you can get the memory charts.

4Gb is good its cheap anyway

no that intel pentium D is your CPU or centrel processing unit your mobo is the thing that everything slots into
