Hi,
My Abit motherboard requires an 8 pin EPS supply, however, I have been running it via a 4 pin ATX12v supply, although the manual states it would be "recommended" to use an EPS plug. Is there any real need to upgrade my PSU to one with an EPS plug or will my current PSU with a 4 pin connector do the job.
Thanks

You should be fine the extra four wires are to supply more power for the PCIe lanes
