Not sure if the community has been asked this before, but I got the notion in my head of plugging the output on a soundcard into the input(mic slot) on the card, playing a sound and having it set so that what what is fed into the input is fed through the output along with the original sound going from the output to the input. Now as we all know, doing this normally and able to hear with the speaker all we get is a horrible squealing noise. I was wondering if maybe doing this directly would possibly damage the sound card in an enjoyable manner i.e. it goes poof, or will the same thing happen as sticking your mic to your speaker, just the endless squeal and nothing more.

Thanks

Doubt it, I don't think you can really "stress" a sound card.

I doubt it'll damage anything.
