I know you can go from IDE to AHCI with a registry edit. Can you go back to IDE from AHCI?

I should have Googled it but I've been preoccupied with the low tech job of changing the U joints on my truck.
I'm planning to install an SSD, but I have a bunch of other drives. I may have to go back and forth between IDE and AHCI on some of the ports to get everything working right.

The above tutorial will allow you to freely switch between the two just via the BIOS, so once you've set those registry entries to the right values you don't need to touch anything else.
