Ok, so i'm building a new system and i have been out of the game for a while. My question is very simple, who is on the top right now, nVidia or ATI? I know it swings back and forth every 6 months or so as each manufacturer releases their latest. But as of right now, who offers the best bang for the buck in the mid to high range cards? I'm looking to go multi-GPU very soon if not immediately depending on the prices.

I know everybody has their biases(i prefer nVidia) and i welcome both biased and unbiased opinions.

Sigh.. thank you for the troll bait.

There are a million sites one can find on a thing they call google that could easily show you unbiased performance and price numbers....

But hey, who has ever heard of a search engine before, I hear they are pretty new.

um, yeah... thanks for that. That was constructive. I am looking around on newegg right now and am doing my own research. I'm just looking for some advice from people with experience with the new cards.

OK, I have my own gauge for performance, and that is PERFORMANCE-PER-WATT.

Right now, from different review sites, it looks like Nvidia wins in the performance per watt with their new 55nm chips. I just bought a GTX 260 Core 216 because it was more energy efficient than the 4850/4870s that I was considering.

I suggest you use Google and look for reviews of the Nvidia 200 and ATI 4000 series.

Check if your power supply supports the card you want.

why am i getting bashed here? i asked a simple question (while doing my own research) and you regulars start having a freaking cow.

Thanks for the links and help PCKID and evongrugg, those will help out a lot. Even you daedalus, i had looked but didn't seen that list. That'll help out just as much. You aren't as big of a turd as you first seemed.

[Why you are getting bashed is because your topic is flame-bait and usually would get deleted and result in you getting sanctioned. It may be an honest mistake, but learn from that mistake Ask SPECIFIC questions next time, not Red v Blue troll topics] - TGGA
* And Dang for the quick replies while I'm locking the thread from work ! :kaola:
