This might not be a motherboard problem, but this seemed the best place to post. I'm in the process of setting up my new PC. I disconnected everything from the old PC to move it. I plugged in different monitors and a different Microsoft wireless mouse to it and started it up. The PC just shuts down after about a minute or two of operation. I thought it might be the OS (Vista) so I went into the BIOS (ASUS P5K) after rebooting and it does the same thing. Any ideas what might be causing it? I just replaced the video card and power supply a few months ago. The other device left are the SATA CDROM, a 3 drive RAID array, and a fourth drive.
Figured it out. The heat sink came loose so it must have been over heating and forcing a shut down. With those push down and twist connectors, it's hard to tell if they're engaged.
This actually happened to me on a build awhile ago. You have to put so much force on those stock pins that it doesn't seem natural to do over a sophisticated piece of circuit board. I figured it out because I run sisoft sandra....surprised you found it so quickly.

Good Work!
As a PC tech I always open the side of the unit for visual inspection, one quick look and you can verify the condition of the capacitors, the creep of the add in cards/memory, heat sink, cabling, and dust bunny colonies. I would suggest everyone do the same.
I learned this lesson looking for a virus, the system kept doing wildly different things, after 2 hours scanning and while bored looked into the system only to find swollen and leaky caps. Mystery solved.
Remember always check the caps.
One quick look is all you need to save a lot of time.
