Small upgrade

I am just looking to update my computer, which is about 4 years old now. I have an Antec p180, DVD burner, and some sata hdds that I plan on reusing. I'm looking to spend about $300. While I will be gaming on it, I'm obviously not expecting 50+ fps on all the latest and greatest games.

dont know what you're looking to hear...but that looks fine. you should get decent frames in most games as long as you dont turn on all the eye candy.

Yeah, that's what some other people said too. I switched to this. It doesn't meet the GPU's wattage requirement, but it has much more than enough amps on the 12v. Good?

Secondly, how much performance does dual channel offer? Is it worth it to get 2 x 1gb of RAM now for the performance boost, or is it fine to get 1 x 2gb so I have an empty slot for upgrading later?

You should get 2x2GB now if you can, because prices are going up and will continue to do so. DDR3 is replacing DDR2.

If you really want to save that 10 bucks, get the BFG LS-450:

Although the Corsair is decent, I think that BFG will be a bit better. The Corsair 450VX would be better yet, but then at that price the LS-550 is the better deal

Umm, the PSU you listed is more expensive than the one I listed. Also, I have a coupon for the one I listed which brings it down to $40.
