Hard Drive External Enclosure(s)

I swapped a 500GB hard drive (for a SSD) out of my 2010 Mac Pro, and ordered a cheap enclosure, so I could use the HD externally. The box arrived, but the connectors don't fit. Does anyone know how I can confidently find an enclosure which my Western Digital 500GB drive will fit?

I've never heard of a case not fitting.

Did you remove the small adapter from the end of the hard drive?

The only other thing I can think of is that you bought an older IDE/PATA (ribbon-cable style) instead of the newer SATA interface.

Make sure that the enclosure has the same interface of your hard drive. If your hard drive has SATA, then geta SATA enclosure. IF the hard drive is IDE, get an IDE enclosure. Enclosure description will tell you what interface it has.

As for you enclosure w/ wrong interface, return it.
