Memory stick problems?

Hello,
hi hope someone can help.i have a 32gb memory stick,when i first used it ,it told me tofprmatt it every time i used it,soi went into the settings ,altered some thing now it wont even star up.the red red flashes when plugged in but nothing else???

What settings did you alter? Is there a way to restore defaults, like a "restore defaults" button in that window?

Think you need to download something like Hiren's boot disc which has fdisk on it; check the partition on the usb drive, and mark it active, save your changes and then format. Tra La.. just recovered my usb drive that way..hooray

If you are troubled with Memory stick or you are getting memory stick error messages than formatting memory stick will help you. Though formatting will resolve the error but it wipe out all the data stored in it. In this case you need a backup to restore lost data. But in the case if the backup of data is not present than you may a third party tool to restore lost data from memory stick.
