Some questions about i3

1. how good will it be at multitasking and multithreaded apps compared to q9550?
2. when will it be released in na ?
3. which is a better buy ,q9550(lga775) or i3?
4.what socked is i3?


i am going to use 3d rendering software which is heavily mutithreaded.
shouldi go for the older lga 775 for extra cores , or get the newer mobo and upgrade to quad in the future?

5) wouldn't it make more sense to go for i5 if it's for rendering since you get the extra cores and a higher IPC than the Q9550?

first of all, lets wait and see if everything weve herd is true before giving others advice, the the i3 will be dual cores, not quad unless 775 gets rebranded

i3=2 threads
i5=4 threads
i7=8 threads+

i5 will be more clocely priced to current 775 quads, the new i5s will be better at multitasking than the 775 cpus due to nehalem architecture.

4 threads could mean 2 cores with smt or four cores without
